- Made famous by the iconic David Lean movie which highlighted the plight of the allied Prisoners of War that laboured to build the infamous Death Railway from Bangkok to Rangoon in Burma under the most terrible conditions of malnutrition and illness in the harsh jungles of this region. So many POWs, and even more local people, died during the course of its construction
- During the tour you will visit the Bridge itself, one of the allied War Cemeteries in the town, & the nearby JEATH War Museum
- well as take a trip along the Death Railway itself by train where you will get spectacular river and jungle scenery views from the viaducts constructed by the POWs.
- On our private tour routing we can see even more: the amazing Wat Tham Sua Temple in Tha Muang district, a spectacular and beautiful temple on a hill in the middle of rice paddy fields.
- We will take a walk along the railway tracks themselves at the Tham Krasae viaduct to see a cave with a Buddha image inside. There is an option also to visit an elephant camp for some memorable elephant trekking and bamboo rafting through the jungle scenery.
